Three Peaks Challenge Equipment Checklist
The following is a handy checklist of equipment to take on the Three Peaks Challenge. What you choose to take depends on the amount of people in your party, the size of your rucksack, the weather, the season, any medical conditions you may have and your experience of trecking / climbing etc.
This is only a guide and you should add and delete items as necessary.
Walking Equipment
- A Durable, Fairly Large Rucksack with Waterproof Bag Liner
- Waterproof Trousers
- A Fleece
- Walking Boots (waterproof and with solid tyre tread)
- Head Torch
- Crampons and Ice Axe (Probably Not Needed for Summer Season)
- Sunglasses
- Maps of All 3 Mountains
- Compass (and knowledge of how to use it)
- 2 x 1 Litre Bottles
- Camera

- Energy Bars / Lucozade Tablets
- Thin Gloves
- Thick Winter Gloves
- Woolly Hat
- Long Johns / Body Armour / Thermal Under Tops
- 2 Pairs of Walking Socks
- Thermos Flask

- Spare Clothes (especially socks and t-shirts)

- Spare Food - You Will Get Peckish!

- iPod / Mp3 / Walkman / PSP / Nintendo DS
- Insect Repellant - those midgeys will eat you!
- Tiger Balm
- Wet Wipes
- Wash Bag - Toothbrush, Deoderant etc
