Three Peaks Challenge

Timings for the Three Peaks Challenge

So how long should it take to climb each mountain on the Three Peaks Challenge and what should the schedule be in order to complete the challenge in 24 hours?

Timings For Each Mountain

You should aim to climb the three mountains in the following times:

These are quick times but perfectly achievable providing the conditions are ok.

To the above ascent times add approximately 10 hours of driving (within the speed limits) and this will give you your total time for the challenge.

Schedule

This is the guideline schedule most often used by participants of the challenge. Please note all times are approximate.

Providing you have a dedicated driver, this is probably the best schedule to take. You reach the bottom of Ben Nevis at around 10pm, which means you can have a seven hour sleep while being driven to Scafell Pike. Climbing Scafell Pike and Snowdon in daylight, means navigation is made easier.

The times above are a guideline only, in reality participants usually complete the challenge quicker providing there is no traffic between mountains.
